The servers are exactly the same except for the daughter card RAID controller used on each. The SYS-2028TP-DC0R uses the BPN-ADP-S300H-L8IR backplane which can support up to 8 SAS3 ports and 4 SATA2 ports. While the SYS-2028TP-DECR uses the BPN-ADP-E1C-L backplane which can support up to 12 SAS3 ports, 1 m-SATA and 1 SATADOM. All other components are the same.
