Solid Platform for Dual-Controller Storage Systems
Super Storage Bridge Bay is optimized for mission-critical, enterprise-level storage applications which can incorporate SATA, SAS, and FC storage solutions for flexibility and provides hot-swappable canisters for all active components in the server for ease of servicing.
Highly-Available Architecture
Supermicro’s Superstorage Bridge Bay (SBB) systems range features design optimized for enterprise-class mission-critical storage applications. Innovative SBB features include a completely redundant, fault-tolerant “Cluster-in-a-Box” system.
The SBB supports hot-pluggable dual-ported SAS HDDs and SSDs with the option to expand capacity by using the SBB JBOD. The Super SBB provides hot-swappable nodes for all active components.
Heartbeat and data connection between the controller nodes are available via the chassis midplane. In the unlikely event of one controller node failing, the other node is able to take over control and access all HDD’s (both controllers can also operate in Active-Active mode), keeping the system up and continuosly available. Storage software is the key enabler of this this functionality, which is available from a number of storage management software vendors.
Equipped with high-efficiency redundant power supplies and hot-swappable cooling fans, Supermicro SBB systems are highly-available and reliable storage systems offered at an extremely competitive price.
