Difference between ISE (Instant Secure Erase) and SE (Secure Erase)

ISE has all the same functions and features as SE. ISE has an additional feature called “Instant Secure Erase”. This feature can effectively securely “erase” all data on the drive within seconds whereas the standard “SE” models could take hours to erase data.

ISE uses a type of encryption to code data. This means it may not be favorable to sell in countries that prohibit encryption. In these rare circumstances, we can sell the standard SE models.
