The proliferation of technology has brought many new ways of doing things including working from day to day.  Millions of people presently rely on mobile work sites such as e-commerce platforms, blogs for affiliate marketing, social media accounts and websites that give access to employment opportunities to get work done.

However, apart from the similarities and differences within the sites, two things that make almost all of them similar are the means used to gain access to the sites and the innumerable attempts hackers make to breach the privacy and security of the sites. Data breaches involving stolen passwords, usernames and credit card numbers are now daily news headlines. Although you cannot make you work site hacker-proof, with the right case, there are several significant measures you can put in place to ensure its safety and integrity.

Since passwords are the most common form of defense against hacking, with the right case, your equipment will always be protected against cyber threats if you do any or all of the following.

Use a Two Factor Authentication

It is risky to have absolute faith in your password because now there are malware that can steal even your password. To protect your worksite even if someone manages to discover your password, you should use a two-factor authentication to stop anyone from logging into your account. It involves the addition of security features such as security question or a one-time password sent in form of a random number as text to your phone.

Never Use the Same Password Twice

Since the human brain can only accommodate so much number of passwords, many people tend to use the same pattern in different sites such as online banking accounts, social media sites and so on. This can make it easier for hackers to gain access to your worksite once they gain a database of such information. Employ the use of a software tool or password manager for mobile devices and computers to safeguard them with the right case against hacking.

Enable Encryption for Your Disk

If you lose your phone or laptop and it does not have disk encryption, anyone who picks it can gain access to all your data. Make sure the option for encryption is switched on.

Backup All Your Files

It is safer to make sure your equipment will always be protected by backing up all your files. If a malware or virus infects your machine, you can always wipe it clean and reinstall all the programs it contained earlier.

Go to the Cloud

Storing files in the cloud is becoming very popular for protecting all sorts of digital files. Get a company with a good reputation and network security to keep all vital information for you.
