Well, this is really exciting.  Barron’s, a weekly business newspaper owned by Dow Jones recently published an article by Nehal Chokshi, a senior equity analyst at Maxim Group specializing in enterprise  technology trends.  The title of the article says it all – as Nehal sees the way Supermicro is evolving as a products company it may soon top HPE as an enterprise products vendor.  This is a very big statement, let’s see what is next for Supermicro.  In this industry we all got used to very unpredictable and unexpected things.

At this point It is worth noting that Supermicro is making hardware platforms for 2 companies mentioned in the article and now owned by HPE – 3PAR and Nimble Storage.  It is not that apparent about 3PAR, the information about who is making what is well guarded by all involved parties.  However taking a look at a Nimble’s system would show without a doubt to a trained eye that this is a Supermicro’s SBB filled with Nimble’s storage management software.
